Sorry, no actual auction here. I'm not even sure if I'm allowed to post this in here. If I'm not, sorry, you can move or delete the topic, that's fine.

My question is as follows: how much is a handcrafted 4.5"x4.5"x4.5", fully functional (though not for rigorous use) pine wood (rubiks) cube worth?

I trust you all to give me honest answers, and not to underquote!

I'd appreciate any help, thanks in advance guys. :D

P.S - There's no picture, unfortunately. My friend's still in the process of making it, and he'd like to know if it's worth the time to make additional ones to sell. Thanks.

I think to find a fair price, you'd just have to sell it on ebay. I have an idea though that he could truncate the corners like the rubiks cube prototype and sell them as replicas!!!!

If you could figure out the color scheme, I bet it would sell for at least $100.

I personally would love a replica but I don't have the money to spend right now.

good luck and tell your friend he should at least try.

Two people have asked about the colouring scheme now, and I admit I hadn't thought about asking him that before. Turns out what he's going to do is border the individual cubes by burning the edges so it becomes a nice golden brown, and then he's going to stain the faces with differerent stains.

Not only can you still see the natural wood, you can tell the difference between the colours, haha.

So what do you think?
