I have been thinking of creating a Cheese puzzle since June 2003. Finally, during the holidays, I spent 2 weeks of time to make my dream come true. I have built a Rainbow Cheese with solid colored plastic pieces.

This puzzle is quite heavy -- 200+ grams. It feels very good just to hold it in the hand -- very solid and smooth. Not only that, it twists-and-turns very smoothly. Notice that the colors are NOT painted on, it's the color of the plastics. I arrange the colors so that you could set rainbow colors on both sides -- red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple.

I named my creation "Chao's Rainbow Cheese" (Chao is my last name).

I still have some materials left and I will be able to make one more Chao's Rainbow Cheese... either sell it on eBay or exchange for a Dino cube (with dinosaur stickers).

And as you mentioned, it *does* look solid!

It feels prety "solid" ... I mean it's "robust/strong/heavy duty".

I have changed a few pieces with stronger/distingushable colors. It's hard to control the colors of plastic resin. Due to the mixing of chemicals, the colors changed.

I have only completed 2 "Rainbow Cheeses" -- one in my collection; and the other one is for sale on eBay. Although I like that puzzle a lot... but I have to sell one so that I can at least cover my costs and the long hours I put in.


p.s. I have not finished the 3rd one (75% there) ... ran out of materials and energy... however, I will finish it if you are willing to trade a dino with me... I need some incentive. LOL!!!

The "Rainbow Cheese" for auction sold for $215... it has at least covered my cost... probably not enough for the long hours I put in, but it's OK... I had fun making the puzzles.

My next project will be the "Trajber's Octahedron".

I plan to make two -- one for myself and the other one for sale.
