Hello all,

I was thinking of purchasing a Pyraminx and saw that there were both Tomy and Japanese versions being sold on eBay, yet I did not see much (if any) difference between the two. Does anyone know of any differences?

P.S.- If anyone has a Tomy/Japanese Pyraminx that they would like to sell let me know as I do not have to go the eBay route...

It seems to me that the white Mefferts and Tomy Pyraminx are the same thing, and the best one's ever built. They are the ones with yellow stickers, the white pyraminx with gold stickers are poor knockoffs from my experience. The black pyraminx seem to pop alot.

you can get a sealed pyraminx from 1981 from mefferts for $18! that's a steal if you ask me.

The blind man's Pyraminxes from Mefferts are also the same general quality as the 1981 white Pyraminxes. The red felt side however is pretty crappy as it rubs off way too easily and makes a mess, so if you intend to use it for this purpose you will want to scrape off the old stuff (which is kind of a pain since it's going on 25 years old) and find a suitable replacement.
