It seems that as I browse though ebay, that stuff sent from the UK costs a lot more to ship than from somewhere else.

I know its a little far from here, but even shipping inside the UK seems more costly than shipping inside Canada or the US.

I often get the feeling UK shipping is quite cheap, at least compared to German shipping. For example shipping a 200g small parcel with airmail from UK to USA costs $4.10 whereas from Germany to USA it costs $9.55 (yes, I searched for cheapest options). Also, UK shipping increases in 20g steps whereas Germany knows only 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 as limits so for example shipping 1000g costs $11.94 more than shipping 999g, which sucks.

Btw, UK is the only one I know where bidding wars happen below 1.00 :D

Thats cos 1 of ours is more than $1 or 1eur :)

On the topic of our postage.. I took something to the post office to get it weighed, and they told me it would be £9.40 to send it off. The day after, when I took it to send, it had gone down to £7.60 for the same postal method.

Those scales must be v.accurate :P

Yeah but still. I think I never see auctions start below 1 EUR = 0.68 GBP. And our bids must increase by 0.5 EUR at least.

Maybe you should've waited two or three more days then :D

Another low-value bidding war in UK, an original sealed 4x4 even with original cardboard box for just $10.98. And there were 15 bids from 8 different people. UK is so crazy...
