I received some information (more coming) about the studio products. I have been given prices which I will share with you. If you have questions, please ask.
First the fine print
This will be the second order that I have placed with Andreas. The first was for 45 Vadasz puzzles which several of you participated with me 3 years ago. See this post viewtopic.php?t=560&highlight=
I have posted links and/or pictures on the previous message (poll) on the studio cubes. I am verifying that the packages still look like this.
The prices below have been adjusted for shipping estimates. I have added $3 to the 2x2, $3 to the 3x3, & $4 to the 4x4. This hopefully will cover the shipping charges to get these puzzles to me in the USA. I will let everyone know the status once I get a shipping quote confirming the totals. Last time I had to ask everyone to chip in another $2 to cover my costs and I don't want to that this time around. Puzzles were shipped airmail but we can go EMS (3-5 days) if people want to pay another $2
On a personal note, I am not doing this for the money. The last special order that I did, I pocketed less than $1 after paypal fees, etc. I wouldn't mind making a few extra dollars to cover my time and shipping materials. I have been trying to find these puzzles for the benefit of all of you at a reasonable price. I really don't have a desire to buy in bulk, especially overseas. However, I am willing to help anyone out who would like these puzzles at a great price. I am not trying to make a profit, but on the other hand, I do not want to lose anything by doing this. IF you live in the US, you will then need to pay actual shipping costs on top of these prices raised to the nearest dollar. Your choice of priority or parcel post. If you live in Europe, I may be able to lower your shipping costs (Don't know yet) by having Andreas ship them directly to you.
Lastly, Since this probably will be another $700-$1000 order. I will ask all of you to pay at least half of your total (before shipping) or you can pay all (preffered, which most people did last time). I don't care to take on the entire cost and low risk on my own. I fully trust Andreas, but not the mail carriers. Once the cubes have arrived I will ship them out once you are paid in full and once you have paid the small shipping charge to send them to you. If anyone here is concerned about this, please feel free to ask any of the twisty members here. I have been a long time member and have great ebay feedback too. I would never do anything to jeopardize my realtionship with anyone on this site.
Finally, Here are the prices!!!!!
Rubik's 3x3 original Studio cube: $15.00 Rubik's 2x2 original Studio cube: $13.00 Rubik's 4x4 original Studio cube: $24.00 Rubik's Magic 8 tile - original: $17.00
I am still waiting on the 12 tile magic.
IF YOU WANT TO ORDER THESE PUZZLES........
Either post your order on this topic or send me a PM (private message). I will be out of town all next week and would like to summarize this order the first week of May. Send NO money until I have gotten back to you to verify your order. All questions should be answered by then too.
Thanks and I hope this benificial to you.

Please post orders only if you are serious. Please no "I would like to have, but ...."
Please post numbers that you are willing to commit to. I need at least 50 items which, based on the poll looks like an easy thing to do, especially with the 4x4x4 added.
Thanks

I'll take 2 3x3x3. Just let me know when the cutoff is for payment. Also, since you had a concern about the honesty of postal people, how about seeing if it can be shipped via UPS, DHL, Fedex w/insurance. I'd be willing to pay a little extra.

I will take one 4x4x4 and three 3x3x3 Studio cubes. I actually voted for 5, but did not have a way to say that it's a three.
EMS is very reliable, and has tracking. It's also faster than regular air mail. It is cheaper than commercial express mail like DHL/FedEx/UPS. In the US it's the USPS Global Express Mail. Whether EMS is worth it - I think it's up to Dodd to decide.
BTW, I have 8 tile Magic and 2x2x2 bought from Andreas 2-3 years ago. I recall they were about $5-6 cheaper then.

I have one question for you Dodd on the WC2003 cubes. I gather some people don't know that there are to different types of WC2003 cubes. Is he selling the nonsign version or the signed version.

The WC 2003 cubes will NOT be signed. I am trying to find out if they are black or white plastic cubes. I can check on any Vadasz cubes, but I think he got rid of all of his stock. I will be out of town next week. I would like all numbers by May 2nd. I will send out confirmations & totals then.

Here is a quick update. Since Friday afternoon I have orders for 38 Studio products and 6 WC2003 cubes. I am hoping for 50 Studio products but not a requirement. If you have friends who cube who don't visit this site often, be sure to let them know. How about as gifts for people too. I will be gone for the week as of 1 pm pacific time today and pretty much away from a computer. I will confirm everything when I return.

Yes, they can be shipped anywhere. I am not sure what shipping costs would be from the USA, but I may be able to have them shipped from Europe.

I'm definately interested in one of each for my collection, can the items be insured if shipped to the UK. By the way, I've seen the packaging style for the 2x2x2 and 3x3x3, but anyone tell me where I can see one for the 4x4x4.
Thanks

I am back!!!! Well, it looks like we have got enough to make this order happen. I will send you all Private Messages by Wednesday confirming the quantity that you want. I will do my best to answer shipping questions by then also. Andras said he would ship directly to those of you in Europe. That should save some money since they wouldn't be going overseas.
Also, the packages say Made in Hungary. He was going to doublecheck with the makers and make sure they are Not made somewhere else.

I have one of these boxes and all the writing is in Hungarian except for "rubik's is a trademark of Seven Towns"
The box says Rubik's studio on it with the Hungarian address.

OK, now that the forum is back up I am going to start sending confirmation Private Messages. Please confirm by Thursday this week if possible so I can send in the order total to Andreas. I would then like to receive a payment by Tuesday, May 10th. If you do not receive a Private Message today (or tomorrow), then please send me one.
I packaged a box today with 2 3x3x3 & 1 4x4x4 with their packages to get an estimated weight. Here is an estimate only of shipping charges.
Western USA $4 $5.50 if you have 6 puzzles
Eastern USA $6 $10.50 if you have 6 puzzles
Canada $6 $11.00 if you have 6 puzzles
Europe $12 $22 if you have 6 puzzles
These quotes are estimates only and are Priority (Airmail) shipping. If you live in the midwest, then the price probably will be somewhere in the middle.
I put Europe prices on there for an estimate only. This is if I were shipping to Europe. Andreas has agreed to ship directly to those of you in Europe so the shipping should be much less. Let me know if you prefer Air or Surface for those of you in Europe.
Thanks

Hi friends,
I bought a Rubik's Studio 4x4x4 on German Cube Day from Milan.
It weighs about 10 grams less than a Rubiks.com version, although these two may in fact be the same mechanism and plastic.
Anyways, the Rubik's Studio 4x4x4 rules! You can cut corners, and it is stable and smooth.
I already set a few sub 1 minute times with it, and that is after less than two weeks of preparing it. I think I need to put it back into the box, to save it for a competition.
Have fun,
Ron

Hmm, Ron, you almost made me regret I didn't order one. But I also got one from Milan and I just compared it to my rubiks.com one. I'd say the stickers and pieces look exactly the same and they both weigh the same, 200g, even though my rubiks.com contains more lubricant. When I noticed at GCD that it looks like the rubiks.com, I think Jaap or Ton said they're the same, only the box differs. That said, I love my rubiks.com 4x4 and my new Studio 4x4 seems to be nice, too. And I like the Studio box a lot.

If anyone wants to add or change their order, you have until Thursday of this week!!!!
Andreas got back to me about shipping a 4x4 & a 3x3 to the UK & Spain.
He prefers Priority airmail and has never had a problem.
Spain $10
UK $8

In 24 hours, 17 out of 25 people have confirmed their order. Out of the remaining 8 there are 5 that are somewhat new to the forum that I don't know much about. Please get back to me by Thursday so I can send in the order totals on Friday. Thanks to all of you who have paid in full or a partial payment. I would like payments no later than next Tuesday so these puzzles can be on their way to us.

Ok,
It is the bottom of the 9th and I still haven't heard back from 4 people. I need some suggestions. 2 of the people are brand new and this was their 1st or 2nd post to the forum. I have sent each of them 2+ PM and have not heard back. 2 other people got back to me today saying there were away for a few days.
Out of the 4 the only 1 I am not postive about is Marcopolo. You all can read his message, but he asked for one of each. Is that all 5 puzzles or just the 2x2,3x3, & 4x4.
I really don't want to order more than I need and not have people get them. I also don't want them shipped to the US if some of these people are in Europe.
Out of 25 people, 11 of you have paid partial or full payments. I don't want to wait forever, but how much time should I give them and should I order their cubes? With the time difference, by the time Andreas sees my email, probably Friday morning) he probably won't be able to do anything until Monday anyway. Should I wait through the weekend? If by then I don't hear back from them should I still order their cubes?
Please feel free to share your thoughts either here or PM me.
Thanks
Dodd

Dodd,
If you could cover the costs, you could order their puzzles and if you still haven't heard from them after you recieve them, I'm sure you could make a small profit selling the left overs on ebay. I know that's not why you're doing this but I don't see anything wrong with it at all.

I am going to place the order right now. If you didn't get in on this and wanted to, I am sorry. I may have 1 cube available when this is all over, so you can check with me, but no guarantees. I am still waiting to hear from the following 2 people
mgwallisa
ryn_patricio
Both of them are from Southern California and are new to the forum. It is only 4 cubes total for the 2 of them so I will go ahead and order them. If I don't hear from them, I may have some extras.
Thanks again to all of you who have paid. If you haven't paid, please do so soon. I want to be able to pay Andreas when he needs the funds and would say that would be Tuesday at the earliest. Please pay partial/full payments before Tuesday morning the 10th.
Thanks and I will keep you all updated.
Dodd

Andreas has received the order and hopes to send them out next Tuesday. If for some reason he can't, it will be the following tuesday since he will be on a business trip.
