Mentioned elsewhere but I guess I should put details of the auction here.
It's a 7 day auction finishing 10.30 pm BST tonight.
The auction is for my signed mint condition unused custom made Blue Golden Cube plus a signed certificate of authenticity. I have been asked to provide some sort of certificate on several occasions so for those people here you go.
This is my original hand made Golden Cube. It's the first full size one I have constructed since Uwe Meffert mass produced the black, white, gold, silver and copper versions a few years ago. In addition it is the first ever coloured one I have made. The plastic itself is blue, not painted or dyed after construction. If it looks familiar you may have seen the picture of Uwe's blue factory made prototype. That puzzle was a one off and never sold.
My Blue Golden Cube is a direct descendant of my 1999 originals and was made from 2nd generation masters. They were modified slightly and improved. The puzzle is different to the mass produced version since the cutting lines are not in the exact same place so Cubesmith stickers will not fit. As with my 1999 Golden Cubes there is one piece with no apparent correct orientation. This was unfortunately lost on the mass produced version which was a great shame because it makes the puzzle harder and is a very important part of my original "design".
I am not sure yet about making more of these. I am keen to try some different colours but I want to wait and see what the reaction is to this one. For that reason I can make no promises or predictions regarding future availability. Obviously since it is hand made there won't be very many whatever happens.
The quality of this puzzle is pretty good. Each move ends with a pleasing click like an original Skewb. The puzzle is hollow though still very heavy. The signature is protected by clear matt varnish which matches the finish of the puzzle.
The puzzle was finished, signed and dated in June 2012 along with the certificate of authenticity.
To avoid confusion I want to point out that the no. 1 refers to custom made coloured Golden Cubes. So if I was to make a red one next (not saying I will) it would be no. 2.
Please note: The puzzle should be held in both hands at all times. If held in one it can twist causing it to be dropped. This is not a fault, it's simply due to the combination of weight and lines of rotation. If it is dropped it will almost certainly break. Ex world record speedcuber Ron van Bruchem experienced this first hand with one of my 1999 originals!

This auction draws to a close later today. At time of posting the price stands at £195. I originally posted the wrong end time. It is in fact 10.30 pm BST.
