Sandy,
Is there a way that when searching the puzzle database, you could pick a puzzle and then search any of the members collections to see if someone has it. I think it would be a nice feature to have for trading, etc. That way someone wouldn't have to search through all the collections looking to see if anyone has a specific puzzle.

Great idea. I'll have to think about this a bit because it sounds like a bunch of work on the face of it.
On a related note, I've always planned to add "For Trade" and "Wanted" subsections to everyone's collection.

I don't have a whole lot of programming knowledge or what would be the best way to go about this kind of search, but here is an idea.
When a puzzle is selected from the database all the puzzle info pops up (more pictures, inventor, date, etc) On this screen you could place a button that would search member collections for this puzzle. I don't know if you want to add the ability to search for specific words or for right now base it on just the pictures that are in the database that people select for their collections.
Just a thought

Yeah, that's probably the easiest way to go. It's not the most robust, but it's a pretty decent start, and may be all that people will really use anyhow. Not too hard to implement either, if I remember my code correctly.

I just popped into this section to suggest the "Trade" extension to the Member's collections and saw this thread. It would be great if you could add that Sandy! Good thinking!

So Sandy!!! Do you know when the "For Trade" and "Wanted" sections will be in there? I can't wait until there in there.

As I said, this is always something I planned on adding. I thought it would get added very soon after I released the Collection Manager, but obviously no dice. In fact, I haven't done anything more than visualize how it will work, but don't let that get you down. Once I start something I tend to finish it, regardless of how little sleep I get or how little work I accomplish along the way.
Furthermore, it might be another month or so before I do any significant work on the site. I have some vacation time coming up combined with some friends coming from Germany for three weeks, so I'll probably be pretty busy while they're here.
