It would be nice if a moderator would add a tournaments section (i.e., general, off-topic, modding discussion, etc) to the forum. I was thinking about starting a cubing club at my high school (im in lexington, sc) and I was thinking that I could more easily find other people for competitions through TP forums than thru world cube association.

Another option would be to put a subforum inside the Solving forum or something.

Big issue: Does "Gelatin Brain's applet" thread go in solving or tournament?

The TP forum is a small enough community that most of the meetup type messages can go in the "General" section.
In general, I think there are enough categories that some of them get ignored in favor of just posting in the general section. For example this whole thread should be in "Site Comments, Suggestions & Questions".
Let it be a data-driven decision. When so many meetup and tournament posts go into the other threads that it become annoying a new section can be opened.
