like we have the option to go to the newest post of a topic, in the sidebar, we should have the same option for each topic.
looking at the sub-furom, you can see who made the latest post, why not have the option to go straight to that post?

another suggestion: in the sidebar, you should be able to see what sub-forum the new post/topic was posted in

I usually just click the "last page" button if it is a thread I have read before. If I don't recognize the first post of the last page, I back one page up. Although I have seen lots of forums before that jump to last page, even some that order posts in reverse, which is counter-intuitive. A lot of newbies sometimes make the mistake to skip most of a thread before posting, sometimes without even reading the first post. I believe that a direct link to the last post rather than the first would make those types of errors a lot more frequent. As it stands, the one or two extra clicks don't bother me that much.
