I'm not sure this post belongs here since I think it's supposed to be a puzzle. At least that's what my mother says our relatives said when they gave it to me many moons ago. Also, I've seen a similar thing (but smaller) in a shop recently and it was called "puzzle" and it was one of a series and all others were indeed puzzles.

But I'm not able to take it apart at all. Maybe with patience I could, but it's boring and still wouldn't be a puzzle. I think it's just "art".

Does anyone know something about it?

These are made by Arjeu. I had an octagon rather than the triacontahedron you have. I pulled it apart, and it soon became clear that the wooden dowels connecting the pieces are not glued, so it can be taken apart completely and the dowels removed.

I decided to glue the dowels in particular holes so that it actually did become a proper puzzle. Unfortunately it couldn't quite be put together that way without forcing it, and it broke. It is now completely glued together and can't be taken apart.

Under "News" - "Pictures from DPP 4" you can see pictures from the "Danish Puzzle Parti". They do have some twisty puzzles as well. Hmm, I think now I wish I hadn't put this thread in "off-topic"

That is a great site! I really need to organize my mechanical puzzles and put them on the web. I have way more non-twisty type puzzles than I do twisty.

I've seen Rob Stegmann's page before (it is actually on my links page somewhere). I found it because I regularly do a search for sites that link to mine, and he obviously has several links. I've been meaning to write up his solution method to the Drive Ya Nuts.

Many of us on eBay have noticed Rob. He is obviously aware of this site and has has it included in his links. I would like to congratulate him too if he's reading this message.

Rob has done a tremendous job:

1) organizing and desplaying his puzzles

2) getting puzzles - Rob seems to have an unlimited amount of spending money. He has purchased more puzzles over the last year than anyone else that I'm aware of. He is a tough eBay buyer too and unfortunately Twisty puzzles are in his list.

3) His website also has a great list of links.

You still looking for the directions on how to take the puzzle apart? Right?!?!?!

I think found a place that sells the puzzle and I also think they come with the solution to. Mine puzzles did come with instructions when I ordered there 3 years ago. There nice people to deal with. There are 2 puzzles which both look like yours in the link below.

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure I'll try to take it apart. It doesn't seem to be a very intellectual puzzle and it's extremely stiff. I could imagine this to be slightly fun to do if it weren't that stiff...
