Soma is a 3 x 3 cube, the Bedland cube is a 4 x 4 cube, therefore, _harder.
With "LiveCube" you can built your own Soma, Bedland cubes even 5 x 5 x 5
cubes, Burrs, Boards etc, they have many, many different challenges.

I saw these online a couple years ago, but they seemed to only be sold in the U.K. So I kept waiting to see one in a U.S. store, but I never have. I finally gave in and ordered one online today.
I used to play the SOMA cube when I was a kid (before Rubik's Cube was known to the world) -- my first 3x3x3 cube fascination. So I'm looking forward to "SOMA's Revenge" so to speak.
Anybody here tried the Bedlam Cube?

I have 2 of them, and they are much harder than the Soma Cube, but not unsolvable at all. It seems that I have found one of the possible solutions, so I got a Golden Bedlam Cube as a reward.

Usually I am not the one to say I have used one before but this time I have! I remember the one I used being a wooden one so might not be the same company. I remember it made the cube form... I also remember there being one with it that made a star like shape... maybe a dodecahedron.

That is very true. It gets difficult. I usually start to build a bottom or base... then go up but if it doesn't work then I start switching pieces etc.

Are these Bedlam cube some assembly puzzle, or is it a twisty puzzle? I would love to get one if they are really that big of a challenge

You can definitely solve it by yourself... it would just take time... and also it isn't a twisty puzzle... an assembly puzzle...

After opening the packaging, turn it upside, and then the fun begins

They pretty much need to be pried apart, and I still can't solve them...

Hi All,I would have to agree The Bedlam Puzzle is just tedious.I love assembly puzzles be they burr or any of the chuck puzzles,but even they have some kind of logic inherent in their reconstruction,Harry.

Why not use a computer to solve it? 
If it was possible to solve Eternity using computers, I see no reason why the Bedlam Cube cannot be.

What made the SOMA fascinating was the fact that you could solve it in so many different ways. And evidently the Bedlam Cube is the same. Some might consider them tedious, but of course there are people who feel that way about Rubik's Cube too.
Another thing I enjoyed about SOMA was trying to make all the other shapes included in the booklet (similar to making Rubik's Snake designs). Some of them just seemed impossible at first sight. And then if you had two SOMA sets, there were even further shapes.
Along these lines, the Rubik's SOMA cube was a fun variant as well. I like the way it made a checkerboard pattern when completed.
