I hope you don't mind but I have a non-twisty puzzle problem that someone out there might be able to answer. I collect all sorts of puzzles and one that I won in an ebay lot a year or so ago is shown in the picture below. It consists of 9 3x1 blocks that have suns and moons on different portions. The partial container that I have says on night and day. Do any of you know more about this puzzle and in particular what is its purpose or goal? I assume it has to do with constructing a 3x3x3 cube with a certain pattern of the suns and moons, but I'm not sure of the specifics. One popped up on ebay about 6 months ago, but even the seller did not know the goal of the puzzle.

Thanks,
Dale

I have one that is similar that is red with white dots. It doesn't have moons. The object is to put it into a cube with the dot pattern of a standard die. Yours looks similar, but I don't know what pattern you're trying to produce.

I also have a dice puzzle that is red with white dots, but where this one has two different symbols I was assuming the goal was something else. Unless you solve it once for suns and then solve it another time for moons (I am just grasping for straws at this point :?: ).
