Sorry for not posting in the right spot last time, but I think I got it now ;)

Here is Ring Case! Same designer as last time. After a whole day of sanding, this puzzle is finally done! I know already: this is not something my hands will appreciate if I were to do this too regularly, so.. they are going to stay limited in number, that is for sure. But.. for now, here are the puzzle pieces

The quality of these is much better, and once I manage to get it together.. sometime in the next year or so.. haha.. I will post a picture of it. I cannot currently even assemble the thing WITHOUT the brown frame

Burrtools says this is a level 5 puzzle, so it should be easier than the Petit Puzzle :D

Read the instructions .pdf file, it gives a lot of useful information on how to use it, especially the part on using custom colours. Burrtools is the de facto puzzle designing tool for these type of puzzles.

Look Gus!

After making all the pieces in the program and telling it to solve there was a big snort by yours truly:

Yeah I can assemble it like that myself!

Fixed what was needed and managed to get the puzzle assembled properly:

Still figuring out now how to make it show what the moves are that I need to make (found it, just need to make sense out of it), but hey I got this far, proud cookie here hehehe. This burrtools thing is at least giving me less headaches than earlier today.

Just wanted to share.. I took this and Petit puzzle with me to work today, along with Gordian's knot.

An 83year old client last week said: how hard can that be.. that knot puzzle. Well.. Gordian is staying over at his place for a week now. ;) I told him I expect it to be apart next week when I come back haha. He played with the thing for a good five minutes before even laying it down, the expressions on his face were golden.

He managed to get my petit puzzle apart and the ring case puzzle as well. Way to go! Turns out he is more into these assembly puzzle things than twisties.

I wonder how he will fare this week, but watching him fiddle was wonderful

Once you "get" burrtools it is really useful. The key points are (after making sure that all the pieces are correct) is doing the solved state right and including the "don't know" states correctly.

Yup, I think I got it. Of course it needs more testing, I will take one of the willbeplayed puzzles and put it in, see what gives. But so far I can now work with it :D

I have many puzzles which I have created in burrtools if you would like them. By the way, to see how to disassemble a puzzle, you have to click on the "Disassemble" checkbox on the solver tab. Then you can drag the "move" slider to animate the solution.

Even better.. if you don't click disassemble it will not give a solution. I had that happen to me
