For those who don't know, Nikoli is a Japanese publisher of logic and pencil puzzles. (They're the ones responsible for popularizing Sudoku.) They've created several other puzzle types, some famous, some not so famous. Slitherlink, Kakuro, Nurikabe and Akari are a few.

They have two websites: one is http://www.nikoli.co.jp, where you can find general information and purchase puzzle books, and the other is http://www.nikoli.com, where they have an online puzzle subscription service with more than a dozen different puzzle types available.

Anyone else here a fan? :)

Yes I like this kind of puzzles, especially Kakuro & Ripple effect, I buy 'Denksport'-books with various puzzles of this kind in them, I always have such a book with me when I travel by train. :)

I also like their puzzles. My favorites are Slither link, Masyu, Hashiwokakero and Numberlink.
And may be you know http://krazydad.com/ - he has a lot of free printable puzzles too.

Just curious - did you play them on your DS? :)

I used to have this and this, but they were in Japanese. I didn't play them much as a result.

While Google searching for those two covers, I noticed there's an eShop version of both. That would be awesome if I still had my DS.

Heh, I have both of those. I can't read Japanese but they're not too hard to figure out...

The eShop games are by a different dev. I haven't tried them because they only have 50 puzzles each, which isn't really enough for the price IMO. (And for some odd reason, Heyawake, which is one of my favorites, is even more expensive than the rest!) But I might if they ever go on sale.

Have you ever played Picross? Picross DS was one of the best puzzle games I ever had on the DS. TONS of downloadable puzzles when you finish the ones on the cartridge. And there's Picross 3D on DS, too, for a bit different challenge.

Picross 3D is so good! :D I need to finish it.

I just looked it up on Amazon the other day and it was under $10. I can't recommend it enough!
