Hi!

There is well known Fifteen puzzle. This puzzle is not very difficult and
I wanted to make more challenged one. There were several attempts
and now I would like to present my Coin "15" Puzzle. I glued several
coins on the pieces, and this added new restriction: you cannot put
together two pieces with coins.

On the first picture you can see the simplest version: it is not too hard
to solve, but it's tricky. The latest version is very hard, the second has
middle level.

I used the following Russian and Soviet coins:

"2" is 2 Russian rubles
"5" is 5 Russian kopecks
"7" is the reverse of 1 Russian ruble
"10" is 10 Russian rubles
"13" is the reverse of 50 Russian kopecks
"15" is Soviet 15 kopecks

Also I put 1 Russian kopeck (not visible on the pictures) between
each piece and coin to make sliding smooth.

Note that all coins, except 15 kopecks, are in circulation now,
but 1 and 5 kopecks are almost out of circulation.

Why I use 50 kopecks for "13"? On the reverse of the coin you can
see Saint George, the slayer of dragons, and the length of that
dragon is 13 meters! Therefore I chose this coin.

Why I use the reverse of 1 ruble for "7"? H-mm... I don't know

You can make your own national version of this puzzle, use coins
of your country and you will get new interesting version! Enjoy!

Hanayama has issued puzzles having a similar principle - some juxtapositions of pieces result in blocked moves - kind of the 2D analogue of "overhang bandaging."
