Hi Non-Twisty Puzzles fans,

Ubisoft's new game "James Noir's Hollywood Crimes 3D" features a lot of nice (quasi) mechanical puzzles by Oskar van Deventer (me), Andrea Gilbert, Jimmy Stephens, Tom Jolly, and the Grabarchuk family (Serhiy, Peter and Serhiy jr). The game is played on a Nintendo 3DS, which features a 3D screen, a 3D camera and many more nice things.

Yesterday, my wife José bought me a Nintendo 3DS, as Ubisoft had already given me a sample of the game to play. This was one of their generous ways to thank me for my input. I spent most of a day (much longer than Ed Pegg wrote in his review) to solve many puzzles and finish the game. Ubisoft has done an excellent job of turning my crude Java applets into very smooth puzzles. I "bootlegged" some screen- and video shots, which José assembled into a YouTube video.

Watch the YouTube video.
Watch the game trailer.
Buy the game at Amazon.
Buy a Nintendo 3DS.
Buy Oskar's Disks, featured in the game.
Play some challenges at Clickmazes.
Check out the screen shots below.

Enjoy!

Oskar

 Oskar is in a video game!!! I think I will borrow my friend's 3DS so I can play this, it gives me more portable access to some of your mazes that I saw on the web and others that I have not yet seen. Congratulations!

I don't think I can make her pose without heavy sedation. The rendering doesn't have to be perfect, it just can't look like Oskar in drag.

Oskar, now that you've got a 3DS, you should be sure to also check out the Professor Layton series, if you haven't yet. (In the original order of release!) They're basically what inspired this.
