Hi Non-Twisty Puzzles fans, Cooksey Maze and the Cooksey Tribute mazes A, B, C, D, E and F were featured on this forum in August 2010. These puzzles are a tribute to the original Cooksey Cylinder, which was invented by the Englishman Richard Cooksey in the early 1970's. Recently, Scott Elliot 3D-printed me a gorgeous transparent sample of Cooksey Tribute D. This puzzle is a special type of maze cylinder. Unlike ordinary maze cylinders, this one does not have one but TWO pins moving through the maze. One pin has a horizontal orientation. The pin at the other side of the ring has a vertical orientation. The ring can be moved back and forth, such that either the one pin or the other pin in is in the maze. If the horizontal pin is in the maze, then you can make only horizontal moves. If the vertical pin is in the maze, then you can only make vertical moves. The maze is very confusing to solve. The maze that you are solving is very different from the maze that you can see. Watch the YouTube video. Buy the puzzle from my Shapeways Shop. Check out the photos below. Enjoy! Oskar Attachment:

Very nice Oskar! Maybe you could design a version in which the ring is a 1x1x2 and can slide, and add another layer on top.

Great design, now we can finaly see the maze while trying to solve it - which was some kind of a problem with the last version.
PS. It remind me some of the comments on YouTube regarding your last puzzle =P lol.

Is this a three dimensional representation of a 4th dimension maze?

The fact it's wrapped around in a cylinder doesn't count as another dimension, in the same way the surface of the earth is still 2D, even though it's wrapped around a 3D sphere.

When you slide the puzzle from the vertical to the horizontal element, or vice versa, that's alittle like being able to pop across the globe, right?

I guess more people know Scott by his TP nickname. Oskar It does help to know the TP nickname. Until I read closely, I thought this was a collaboration with Kelvin Scott because he was doing something like this for the Qubami.
