I still have 4 hours on I-74. Rox, try Toys 'R Us (that's where I found them in... Japan!) or other popular toys stores. Wish you a good trip back! Pantazis

Barnes & Noble has been stocking Hanayama puzzles for a long time, but lately I've noticed they're getting displaced by a cheap imitation from Canada that's sloppily constructed and carelessly packaged. The Hanayama puzzle is correctly assembled with the C hooked through the eye of the A, while the Noodle Your IQ puzzle just has the C hooked carelessly between the letters A and B. Attachment:

I once found Hanayama puzzles in the Men's furnishings department (ie: razors, combs, underpants) at Macy's, but I think that was a mistake because they cleared them out at half-price a month later! )I bought sixteen.) (Please, don't anyone scream "knockoff." Although Noodle Your IQ is clearly imitating Hanayama, these particular puzzles are public-domain. They've got as much right to them as Hanayama does.)

Discovery Bay puzzles are all public domain. I picked up about six of them. Simple puzzles, new size, cool balls on the end. I guess I'm just going to have to go beg on Granville road when I return home. All in all it's been a good puzzle trip though. I can't complain too much. And I did get a really cool pair of Dr. Seuss converse's! now of you can tell me where to get a pair of those rubik's cube ones I'd be really happy!

What I find very interesting, is the difference of levels for the same puzzle assigned by different companies. Pantazis

Update: Based on Rox's comments I went back to Barnes & Noble today to see if they still carry Hanayama. Most of their puzzles have been cleared out! There were two Hanayama puzzles and one Noodle Your IQ. I think their Circle puzzle is a relatively recent puzzle, not an old public-domain puzzle. Attachment:

I bought both puzzles. Hanayama's workmanship was good as usual, but the Noodle Your IQ Circle puzzle is so badly finished that it can't even be assembled due to sprue marks. Notice, Hanayama has a New Distributor for USA, the Bepuzzled brand at AreYouGame.com.
