Four cardboard sets (25 tiles) and one plastic set (9 tiles) that's all I know off.

I have seen twice on eBay a 9 card version. No, not the OddsOn plastic 2-sided version, but a 1-sided cardboard version that looks similar to the Matchbox ones you got.
Maybe anyone knows more about it?

As Philip said, there is indeed a 9 tile cardboard version, the mini-tangle. I think these were giveaways, promotional items.

I have one (I can't find it as it is hidden away somewhere in storage), and it is simply a perforated cardboard sheet. You would have to tear out the tiles to play with it.
