Hi, ok, so it's my fourth cube modification and everytime i've done a mod, i try to find an easier and faster process method but it still takes ages haha , and everytime i do a mod i say it's going to be the last one but i'm happy of the result, i've made a polyhedron with 13 sides, 4 equilateral triangles, 2 right triangles, 1 rectangle, 1 triangle isoceles, 1 square, 2 pentagons, 2 hexagons some of the sides are a bit confused, but it's ok I have forgotten my lovely camera at Frank in Dusseldorf when we were doing the colector's portrait so, i've asked my neighbor's weird camera such i wanted to post the puzzle...i hope the pics are ok fred

Woah How did you do it? I wouldn't give up puzzle building if I were you. Good luck on future projects!

Very nice! 2x2x2 mechanism? With only one picture it's not so clear...

OK, not a 2x2x2--like I said, the first picture was a bit ambiguous Now I'm thinking skewb modification, possibly UFO--I see that you've been cagey enough to not take any pictures along a slice, so the ambiguity remains. Nice!

I think the correct term is triskaidekahedron, meaning three-plus-ten-sided-shape.
(Tridecahedron could be interpreted as three-tens or thirty sided.)
Anyone know enough Latin to clarify this?

No, if your logic held then a dodecahedron would be a 20 sided figure where in fact it is a 12 sided figure.

@elijah516: Can you please stop, or at least slow down, all your pointless / erroneous (and numerous) posts? The first item on a google search gave this, meaning that you could have done the same thing and saved me the hassle of doing it for you. Cheers!

Thanks elijah516 you're right on this one. I was thinking dodecahedron was twenty sided and that led me down the wrong path. I didn't even get the language right. (My example was bastardized Greek, not latin.) Wikipedia to the rescue: The Numerical Prefix article gives both trideca- (Latin) and triskaideka- (Greek) as acceptable choices. You can choose whichever you please, including trayodasham- if you want to use sanskrit.

I really really want one of these puzzles, I only own a 3x3 and a 5x5 and this would be an interesting change of pace.

thank you everybody, woow, reeeeech, thanks for sharing this pic: [/quote], there is no doubt a relation with the puzzle shape and this spaceship... ok so the mech is from a skewb, and i tryed to put the mech the more off centered i could, to get all parts really differents from each others. it took me between 40 hours and 50 hours, i thought i could make it in 2 days but i was wrong.

Yet another beautiful, weird, almost alien-looking mod. I love to see these puzzles, they are so sculptural, either solved or muddled.
Please do not stop making them!

Triskaidekaphobia is morbid fear of the number 13, so triskaidekahedron sounds about right.
Would it be possible to have triskaidekahedrophobia?

This is an inecredible puzzle.. I'm interested as to what mechanism was used. Perhaps a Skewb?

I'd be willing to spend quite a bit on a puzzle like this. Can you maybe sell random shaped parts so we can build our own? I don't have good enough machinery to make very precise pieces, random or not.

simply beautiful frederick, so far the best design i've seen on a cube, you might be younger than fisher in building, but for me, your style is in the summum, good job frenchy. i discovered this site 2 days ago, and i found so much inspiration throught all the creations people share in here, that i've decided to start my first mod tomorrow. good job again!

As I just said at Tony's thread: I love mods like this!
When will you be willing to sell one of your designs (to me - hehe)?

I like it Fred. I can see where you are going with your designs. Am I right when I say that you are one of the few people on this forum that prefer puzzles to be in an unsolved state? And when can we expect your first large scale puzzle? Because I know that's your goal. Thomas

Because I know that's your goal. no, i think it's no use when it's too big to handle, but i would like to make a bigger scale reproduction of a mod when scrambled and fixed, frozen, i dont need it to turn, unsolved state, that's what i like btw: don't forget I even can't solve a 3x3!!! Frank Tiex was asking me why did i use to leave a hole in one of the puzzle parts, it's to be able to take it appart when i mix it
