Remember my Cubic Megaminx? (see twistypuzzles.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6329)
I liked the shape, so I also made one with a Skewb mechanism.

Only halfway building did I stumble upon Vadim's similar Envelope Skewb (see twistypuzzles.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5046).

Anyone know of a good name for this design?

Thomas

I would call it ruining a GREAT skewb puzzle.

How about the Skewb Cube?

Skewb-ecks Cube (Skewb X Cube). because of the x on the sides.

Since the Megaminx mod was partially dodecahedron -> cube, and the Skewb mod is partially cube -> dodecahedron, you could try to name it something along the lines of Dodecahedronic Skewb (or something that flows better)! :)

With your solution. Have you bothered learning a new one? I bet you could get around 30 at least with the one I use.

Very nice :D . I think it is cool how the megaminx looks kind of like a
higher order skewb.

Great Mod! Vadim made a similar one a while back. It appears to me that he truncated the corners while you didn't. They're both great ideas. So professional. :D viewtopic.php?t=5046&highlight=envelope+skewb

I like how Thomas did the 6 colour scheme with his though.

Still they are both great mods.

I once looked at learning one, then decided against it..
I am not too fussed, I can solve one, and that's all I care about. :)

Yes I cut the corners.
I do like your 6-colour version, Thomas, looks great!
I made all cut faces the same colour:

Pantazis don't worry, your mods are also quite amazing. :o

I find it interesting that it doesn't change shape after turns. Surprised me.
