International shipping for this cube is more than the cost of the cube itself, because the cube weighs about 1kg.

Description of this puzzle states:

Size: 185*185*185mm

but it definatly doesn't seems to be 18.5cm, in fact it seems in the pictures to be 18.5 inches

It says "Free shipping" on the website.
Is this different for you?

LAL is from China (as we can see under his username), I believe he is saying that the puzzle is much cheaper to buy in China.

Even though sites advertise "Free Shipping" the cost of the "free" shipping has to be included in the price of the puzzle.

I think the measurement (18.5 cm) looks right!
I'd love to know if the corners/edge pieces can be taken apart and if there is much room inside them (each cubie could be used as a "treasure chest" :D )

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. I just bought one, and the price in China is CNY65($10.5) with free domestic shipping. I will post pictures when I receive it.

Is it fully functional? The green inner side looked all one piece from the photo. The top pieces look like it is fully functional but that green side just looks odd.

From what little I can see, if you look closely on the red side the pattern continues onto the red center piece, which either means that all but the top side are fixed in place or that those are just how the centers are molded to save on plastic costs. From the other pictures it looks like those edge pieces will fit in those holes in the center pieces grid thingy :D

I received this big cube yesterday, and it is fully functional, the turning of which is quite smooth.

I posted pictures and more information in this thread:

Looking at your other pictures I can see how the feet of the green fitting under the green center can make it look like a single fused piece. But when I looked at the white/blue foot on the white center from your photos I can see that is an illusion.

Now I am interested! I am surprised to see free shipping on such a large item.

Seeing the pictures now helped me as well. Though, I did assume it was functional before-hand as we have a large 3x3 on the market already. Admittedly, the free shipping has me making jokes as I type this.

When will we have a retail giant 3x3 that requires freight shipping?

I didn't expect to be interested but with free shipping it seems like a reasonable deal.
I am holding back because, frankly, I am already having trouble storing my collection and this would take up a lot of space. But I might just have to make room somewhere...

Well let's be honest Dave, it's not free shipping. It's "built-in shipping". Knowing cubezz normal prices as I do, I would say that without shipping the cube would be $15-$20. I still personally think $36 USD is a perfectly good price just to have one of these to scare normal people. 8-)

Normal people seeing my collection as it is assume that I'm crazy, already .
I do not need to scare them any more
To be honest: I'm not able to invent any excuse to my wife, why I need this one
(First of all, I'm not conviced myself why I should get one.)

BTW, the perfect puzzle for travelling on an airplane - and getting accused for carrying a bomb with you

This thing is so large, you could probably store 26 puzzles inside it. If it was made from a transparent plastic, it'd be a killer display case.

You need this because it is new and it is larger than other 3x3s :D

Im wondering if I can stash bills inside each piece and make it just a hiding place for cash at my home. Do you think burglers will take the big cube with them when they see a big cube by itself on my desk or next to a bunch of puzzles next to it? Maybe I shouldn't be saying thhis because if anyone reads this, you know where my cash is hiding in lol

at this point in my collecting, my excuse is usually 'i need it because i don't have it'.
and if it's an interesting enough puzzle that my wife can take it to work and show it off to the Software Developers, then that excuse works just fine.
:)

Actually, this cube can be used as a chair, especially when kids come to my home.

Perhaps for a child. The description states:
Puzzle Description wrote:
Although this cube is very big, please don't use this super big magic cube as a stool

With all this talk of furniture puzzles, I want a Treasure Chest Ottoman and and cubic meter cube that doubles as table and display case.

I received this puzzle and it is a great addition to my collection. It turns quite well out of the box, but when I disassembled it and removed the centre caps, the screws were so tight that the springs were completely compressed. After I loosened the screws by a couple of turns, it turned even better.
