Hey guys,
Today I'm really excited to showcase the second iteration in my Gemstone series:
The Gemstone II

This puzzle is the second in the Gemstone series of puzzles, which are deep-cut face-turning dipyramids. This is an octagonal dipyramid, meaning there are 8 deep-cuts in total
There are 14 places in the middle of a turn where a cut lines up to turn again, which occurs 6 times:

This might be the hardest twisty puzzle ever. I'm not even joking. Without the stickers, I still couldn't unjumble it, or even get close...

The short edge is 40mm, and the long edge is 83mm.
Again, both questions I asked previously...
1. Why did I choose this particular Octagonal dipyramid?
2. What other puzzle's axis system is identical to this one?
Enjoy!

Are the cut patterns equivalent to two Skewbs 45 degrees apart?

I couldn't wait to see this! Fantastic job! I must ask though, is there a reason the odd numbered dipyramids aren't being included in this series?

Great puzzle, well done! Some questions come to mind ...

1) How many pieces does it have?
2) Will it be available on Shapeways?
3) If you removed the octagonal pyramid tips, could it still function?

First post updated with good pictures AND video. Thanks everyone!

Actually, they are not! It's funny because I originally designed it this way, but saw that scrambling past each skewb would be extremely limited.

75 total, with 58 on the outside that are visible.

Unfortunately, it will not. It's just too complicated to sell as of right now. :?

Of course. However I think it would have issues with catching, the extra surface of the tips helps to keep the border pieces aligned correctly.

It looks even more awesome in the video.

With only 75 pieces, why is this the case?

Whoa that looks incredible! That's the closest to a cut gemstone we've seen of any twisty puzzle. A real diamond in the rough.

Very nice, and good choice of sticker color and arrangement.
