I have been mucking about with the B4cube project this morning, checking some tolerances and the fit and function of some parts, when my kids started spontaneously turning up with some puzzles of their own. Amazing considering they're 5 and 8. I've always believed they learn who you are, not what you teach them.

The oldest one made the square one with the `slice layer only` twists, and the youngest one made the 1x2s with the fitting.. they turn a bit better, but they're not as technical

I told them I'd post their puzzles on TP for them, and they're pretty stoked about that..

Yeah, it was totally unsolicited too, and they went straight over and stored them in my cube cabinet

That's really neat. I suspect it's the small unexpected things like this that make being a parent rewarding. Legos were a wonderful part of my childhood.

Here's a link to a video demonstration by the inventors:

They were very excited to make a video for you too :)
The younger one's puzzle has become slightly more elaborate.
Personally, I liked the simplicity of the first ones, but.. it is up to the inventors what they wish to present, right?

So you have from back to front the:

Festival Boot puzzle
Ski puzzle
Speedskate puzzle...

...but what do you call the slice only one - Loaf Of Bread puzzle? 8-)

I am a bit surprised that your Dad hasn't come out with a bandage kit for them already though

Keep up the good work girls :D

P.S - these are examples of a kind of joke collectively called Dad!

I have been trying to teach my 3 year old sister whom I am a caregiver of how to turn some of my puzzles :) It's so cute seeing them pick up the hobbies we have and try to emulate them

Very nice!

I could not create much interest for puzzles in my daughters and now in my older granddaughter (5 years old). :(
At least my son can solve the Rubik's Cube and the 4x4x4, 5x5x5, 6x6x6, 7x7x7 ...
