Hi,

I'd like to show you my new puzzle - Corner Latch Cube.
Inspired by idea of my Coin Sliding Puzzle, I tried to apply
coins to standard Rubik's cube and you can see my result -
new version of Latch cube, where direction of turns are defined
by arrows on corner cubes. The implementation of Corner Latch
cube looks funny, but the cube is not simple for solving. Enjoy!

Does anybody know how to solve it?

Very interesting! I guess this is entirely based on overhang bandaging, because that's the reason the sides only move one way. But either way, it still looks like it could bring up a few solving difficulties.

Interesting, and nice that such a simple mechanism makes it work.

I would guess that you solve it in a way similar to the Latch Cube, but I expect it would be simpler: for the Latch Cube, you first put it in a canonical configuration, where all the arrows match the solved state. From there, you develop transforms that preserve this property. Here, I think it would be easier to reach such a canonical configuration, as there are only four pieces that matter.

I don't think I understand how this works. Can this turn be completed?

It looks to me like the coin is about to collide with the orange-white edge.

I think that if that is a DaYan cube, it will flex enough to snap into place.

It functions as a latch cube, but with the latching in the corners rather than edges. He is using the springy ability of the puzzle to be able to snap through the turn in the one direction, but not in the other.

What was the base cube you used for this? I don't recall seeing a pastel stickerless cube anywhere.

That might be the picture quality, or it could be a DianSheng.

Yes, this turn can be completed anticlockwise (follow the arrows)
