I used only 3 colors, but it is very difficult to solve
I used three colors of the Russian national flag

How many sticker colors would be needed to make it a supercube?

Well, a regular color scheme would make it a supercube because of the offset centers, but perhaps fewer than 6 is possible. :)

Isn't any 3x3 cube a super cube or am I misinformed about the definition?

A supercube has only one solved state, including rotated pieces. The only nxnxn supercube is the 2x2x2, needing only 4 colors.

The white corner in the first image shows rotational symmetry.
Therefore it is very similar to the "Beveling Axis Cube":

There are ways to make the other nxnxn's into supercubes as well.
