This puzzle is a Teraminx transformed into the shape of a cube. As far as I know this is the highest order Hexaminx ever created. If anyone knows of a Peta or higher, please let me know. :D
This is the most insane twisty puzzle I've ever made. It contains over 500 parts and over 600 stickers are needed to cover each face. I'd say this took 10 months to make from start to finish.
The edge length is 90mm, making this very large!
I'd thought I would share some photos of the making of this puzzle. When I first got the parts from Shapeways, there was a LOT of powder and cleaning the pieces really shows this:

Next it was on to the first assembly. I had to sort the pieces into an army of cups you can see on the kitchen table

Then I began assembly. I started by assembling it solved, but decided to semi-randomly put it together afterwards to save time. So much for the cups...

The puzzle assembled for the first time:

Afterwards I went on to dye the parts. This took a very long time due to the high number of parts.

Finally it was ready for a final assembly. This time I assembled it without sorting the pieces at all. Quite ironic...

The puzzle fully assembled:

Well I was going to be cheeky and make some comment about how it wasn't a peta-hexaminx, but I decided that would definitely be misinterpreted by someone out there. I'm just blown away by all these new designs from Ben. 8-)

Been wondering when that would be shown

Ever since that thread with the SW model was shown I was wondering if it was able to come to life. Can you tell how large it is by comparison?

And I'm sure I wasn't the only one who got the hint you posted, but wow did I get excited

Are there any moves that get blocked due to the shapes and how they extend out?

I just thought of a good sticker mod for this. Sticker it half and half on two sides where the halves are normally opposite colors in the cube. For example, the white side now would be half white and half yellow, as well as the opposite side of the cube. This could bring up parity with two switched pieces.

What a marvellous achievement in puzzle design. It looks great solved, and I can imagine the scrambled state would be like a colourful cactus. This puzzle would make a good reason to come out of my Shapeways puzzle hiatus.

Is this the same that you have ordered stickers at 2013 March (or April)?
Or did you modified that design?

By the way, it looks fantastic!

This desperately needs an update, albeit it's a minor one.
I still don't have my photobox set up yet to take some better pictures and real video, but here's an old demo of the puzzle before it was dyed.
Enjoy!

Yea. It took me awhile but I pulled through.

See first post.

If he is I have to send him through the mail to someone. That might be illegal
NXTgen wrote:

No, because the parts are extended spherically. Boy something like that would be a nightmare... :x
Again, THANKS for all your support and help!
