Hello all

I wanted to share my excitement and amazement at a puzzle I recently bought from a well-known puzzle maker. It's a handmodded 9x9x7. It's beautifully finished and weighs over 500g. I really am staggered that this sort of thing can be made. If you want to see its movement and turning etc, you can have a look at a video I made showing it off. I feel very honoured to own it!

Here's what it looks like scrambled:

And this is it next to its relatives, the 7x7x5 and 6x6x4 (made by the same person).

The solving isn't impossible. Just long! I'll be putting up some kind of walkthrough solve soon. I think an actual proper tutorial may stretch the boundaries of time and space.

I don't think it will get as close as Petethegeek's 8 hours Petaminx tutorial ;)

No, but I wonder how many viewers actually watched the entire thing!

Put it this way. I need to put it down every so often just from the weight.

I'm kind of disappointed, I thought this would be a 9X9X5040.
All joking aside, this really is a neat puzzle. I want to see a video!

Ha ha! Well, the link to the video is in the first post. And yes, I did end the video by officially asking when the 17x17x15 would be coming.

I saw you talking about making a solve walkthrough so I was an idiot and thought there wasn't a video. Sorry.

For anyone interested, I posted a photo album of the solve pictures (16 of them) as I solved this thing. If you're on facebook, you can view it by going to my page - link in the signature.
