Hey everyone, I would like to present the 6x6x8 cuboid, designed by myself for Crazybadcuber, also known as Dan.

This is my first puzzle I have designed that was a first print success. As I design more, I am becoming more aware of ways to improve puzzle designs, and definitely get faster at designing them as well. On this particular puzzle, and my next upcoming one, I rounded off the outer edges to give it a more proportional look. The puzzle is able to be a little more proportional, but I made it slightly bigger to add to the corners strength.

A note from Dan: "I asked Tom Z to build this puzzle for his shapeways shop which he agreed to, designed, printed and made a test video. His version has alignment issues which he told me if I was willing to pay for the second prototype he would re-design it. I agreed. That was the last time I heard from Tom and he has not answered any email since. That was months and months ago. After asking some very respectable people in the Twisty Puzzles Forum if I had the right to produce this puzzle even though Tom has designed it already, they ALL told me that yes I do because I had done what I could to contact Tom and received no answer at all and that it looked like he had abandoned his project. "

dimensions: 74 mm x 74 mm x 96 mm
weight: about 200g

I had no idea that I wanted one of these, but now that I see it in front of me, I must have one.

Great work again, Jeremy!

Yeah, I didn't think I would get one myself! Now that I see it I am very tempted to buy one.

Thank you!

Here's a follow-up question, Jeremy.

Roughly how difficult is this to assemble? I love to assemble puzzles almost as much as I love to solve them, so if I get a good challenge it just adds to the fun.

Well I don't have one, but I do know how difficult it will be to assemble. It will be the most difficult to get the hidden layer into place. If you have assembled an 8x8, it is pretty much slightly easier than that to assemble. Not too hard, just takes a while to sort through all the pieces.

Dan, congratulations on getting this out there. I'm sorry I haven't been more responsive - I haven't had much time for puzzles lately. The 6x6x8 I made can be seen here. I wasn't very happy with how it works (the alignment issues you mentioned and the fact that the corners are very fragile and easily broken). Anyway, glad a stable version is now available.
