So how do you colour it? Is it just black paint? Can it be scratched? What would happen if you dropped it? Is is soft like plastic or more like rock?

Q.So how do you colour it? A.The grade of Milliput I'm using is white. So I am putting a black surface on it. If somebody has some success in pigmenting Milliput, I would love to hear about it.
Q.Is it just black paint? A.Yes, just black enamel model paint. If I make one to sell, it will get a polycarbonate or polyurethane coating on top of the paint. I high quality primer would also be a good idea. Q.Can it be scratched? A.The paint on the edges wears. I touched it up with a permanent marker. The marker seems to be more durable than the paint. I think it can be scratched.
Q.What would happen if you dropped it? A.I tried to break the Milliput off of the plastic pieces with my hands. I couldn't. It does not seem to be very brittle. None of the pieces broke during construction. I haven't tried throwing it against a brick wall. Somebody else can do that research.
Q.Is is soft like plastic or more like rock? A.It is more like rock. It does not yield. However, it sands nicely. Then you can wash the dust off with soap and water.
