Some weeks ago Greg gave me the stl-files for following twisty. Stickers are hand cutted by myself.

Awesome.
What did you created here :?:
I assume, the core is a 2x2x2 => You can't twist four faces to allow for a different axis for the 2x2x2. Don't you?

Did you or Greg conceived the idea?

Andreas

What a good idea! Putting those two together doesn't seem like a natural fit so it's neat to see it work out.

Is it possible to do a 180 Megaminx face turn and still do a 2x2x2 move? Once you do this, do things start to block or can you make quite a jumbled mess out of it as long as the 2x2x2 cuts in the Megaminx centers are still aligned?

Does it have a shape shifting? Does it have a jumbling?

Here some more pictures. This will clear something.

First I rotated the dark green face 180 degree, then I made a 2x2x2 move (like Brandon want to do).

Andreas, the core is a 2x2x2 (50mm).
I got this design as a present from Greg. He has this idea, he made the design work.
edge length: 57mm, weight: 257 grams

When I first saw it, the Big Chop came in to my mind.

Is it possible for this puzzle, once reduced back to a megaminx, to have 'parities' where regular megaminx turns can't solve it?

I agree, this not only looks fantastic but is ingenious... although I too am curious if it self bandages/blocks itself in any way when scrambled.

Very well done!

Very nice idea~I never thought a 2x2 & a megaminx could be together, especially when I saw the shape shifting pic~

Its geometry... it is just... beautiful!!!

There are many other puzzles whose cuts are strategically places on the rest
of the pieces, but this one has that... extra uniqueness!

:D

A very special achievement.
Congratulations to both of you :D

What a pity that Greg prefers now to design strangely looking chess pieces
What a loss to the twisty puzzles community

Looks terrific and behaves even more amazingly. Great job!

How many unique pieces does it have and total number of pieces?
