Shapeways Update:
They said they are going to do something about the missing piece, but will get back to me with the details.

On the plus side, my stickers and screws have arrived :mrgreen:

If I'm right (and remember well) there are 36 different colors in the package. Some are close to each other, but they ARE different.

So there is a chance to choose as different colors as possible for all the 30 sides.

I doubt I'll ever get one of these, but I think it would be a good idea to have checkered stickers like you have available for the tuttminx

Finally an update from Shapeways: they have found the missing piece and are sending it to me! This is the best possible outcome as there will be no concerns about compatibility.

Now I can proceed with some preparation and dying:
It will take three batches to dye all the pieces- core, small face pieces, remaining pieces. When I post my unboxing video it will be clear why I have to dye the core separately. I will dye the smallest pieces separately from other pieces to have better control over them.

If you don't want to waste dye, don't dye the core, it's not necessary :wink:

I've been going back and forth on the idea of leaving it white. It is completely covered and would save a step. That just leaves two batches of pieces to dye.

I agree - very challenging to assemble, but in a fun way, like getting a bonus puzzle!

Twelve hours to assemble over two days. It will take me a while to figure out how to edit down the assembly video to the useful parts. Most of it is me trying different ways to install the small parts without dropping them into the core and me fishing small parts out of the core. :mrgreen:

I will definitely post a video because I want to encourage people to get this awesome puzzle.

The ETRT is breaking in nicely. It takes a bit of effort to start a face moving, but once it does, it quickly moves freely.
