May I proudly present, the (prototypes of):

MazeBall, MazeCone and MazeRoll

Those are fake-twisty maze puzzles, as they do not scramble.



It's a 1x1xN? I've had the idea also for some kind of 3x3x3 maze puzzle (in ball shape), but it is very difficult to get a good twisty and a good maze puzzle. And it's certainly not my next project.

The designs of the MazeRoll, MazeCone and MazeBall (this is the order I designed those) already took me about a year.


(the internal holes are only to make printing less expensive. Those are no internal maze paths)


The designs of the MazeRoll, MazeCone and MazeBall (this is the order I've created those) are currently being registered. After this, I'll release the final versions at Shapeways. I expect this to be by the end of January 2013.

I really do like the look of these!

As an idea, you could design maze panels that can be stuck onto standard sized twisty puzzles. Using this method it could be quite easy to design a twisty maze based on the outside of a spherical 3x3x3, plus it should be pretty affordable to print that way too.

Keep the thought and remind me mid-2013 if I forgot about it

One of the main problems will be, that I'm no good in solving twisties.... I'll see how to cope with that aspect (yes, I know there's enough to find about solving in this forum).
