This cube has all the parities from normal 3x3x3 cube: 1. Permutation of Edges 2. Permutation of Corners 3. Orientation of Edges 4. Orientation of Corners 5. Orientation of Centers (Including 90-degree turn only: Yes, it is possible) The interesting thing is, whenever you reassemble the puzzle, it is always possible to solve it ignoring how you assemble it. (Only if you didn't changed the center caps) Note: It is well known that 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube has 1/12 chance. Funny and easy to make. I love this puzzle

Wow. Mad. I have a question though. Is this still more difficult than a normal 3x3x3 concerning your possible parities if you know the color pattern or have reference pictrues? Or does it only have all these parities if you try to come up with a solution for it yourself and put a lot of pieces wrong?

Clever! @alaskajoe: Well, there's two identical edges, two identical corners, one orientationless edge and one orientationless corner. It's pretty trollish even with reference.

Having a reference image is not really a help at all. The little squares that mark the special piece locations are essentially unique (ie there's no doubt where the yellow-yellow edge goes because there's only one little yellow edge square to match it with). The only duplicate is with the two green little corners, which obviously mark the 3-green corner. So given a scrambled version of this cube, it's easy to logic out what the solved position looks like.
The problem is solely with not knowing things like the orientation of the yellow-yellow edge, or being able to distinguish the real red-blue edge from the special one... you can't logic those out without evaluating the parity in some way (attempting a solve being the most typical way).

Very creative. I've thought about making a sticker pattern like this but I was imagining removing stickers. That is, the orientationless edge and corner would just have no stickers on them, etc. By using sticker colors and putting the marks on the centers to show which pieces have the unexpected color you've made something really cool.
Is your post intended to put this sticker pattern into the public domain? I'd like to pay Oliver to make this sticker mod but if you want to retain your copyright to that we'll all have to make it ourselves.

One thing more:
Try to solve it from 6 face each. You'll feel like solving 6 different puzzles.

Being able the recognize the parities that occur when once piece is misoriented or misplaced is one thing, but it will be interesting to see what happens when multiple pieces are involved. ETA: I just had fun checking a couple of them. Also, as all of the centre pieces have orientation, I do believe that this is a "super" super cube!

Really interesting sticker mod. I've been working on similar ideas some time ago and classified 180 cubes according to the orietability of edges, corners and centers. You may check and try them all here. Just click on a cube if you want to try it.
