Hello Fellow Puzzle Lovers

Skulls are so fashionable these days so i made this humble yet very fun, 3x3x3 rubik like, 4 skull heads twisty puzzle.

I started to gather some 3D Skull dxf head models in order to 3D print a 2x2x2 Skull head.

As this is not a simple task at all, i decided to cast a 3x3x3 cube to look like a skull head.

It is a prototype that i intent to remake it in a ballcore high quality puzzle.

I started shaping the "red base face" as a cilinder just like a barrel shaped puzzle.

This barrel shape holds the neck and mouths of the 4 heads.

Then i extended just a bit the orange face as the top of the skull's head.

I left the original stickers becaused after all shaping the stickers look a little "trashed" what gives the skull some organic "punk" appearence...

Then my wife and i painted the skull heads with 4 different eyes, noses and mouths style.

I know it is far from a "mass-produced" appearence, i am not proud of the finishing so i will make it again with all that it needs to be perfect.

But i do think it is very fun puzzle as in the end of this fast development (took only few hours to make) i discovered that this puzzle is pure fun.

It seems that the fact of the 3 layers being with different shapes, bottom is barrel, middle is normal and top layer is a bit extended, plus the fact of having
simple black skull drawings on 4 faces, makes this puzzle faster and easier to solve...

In the end of this scramble, i end up with the forehead and mouth of the yellow and white faces switched. I do not have many experience with speed cube solving or fridrish methods, but it only took me
a couple of moves to restore the solved state of the puzzle.

it called my attention, the fact that we can look symbols and fast decode then in our minds, much faster that using the algorithms. No mather how we scramble this puzzle, we remind the states and figures it makes and it helps to fast
revert and solve it.





i even named some of the faces at the photos, for instance:

462 - white face angry skull
463 - yellow face freak skull
464 - green face mexican skull aka Margarita
465 - blue face scared skull
476 - skull with headset
484 - with lipstick
486 - showing tongue
494 - bumped exclamation point
506 - large angle
