Hi Twisty Puzzles fans,

Proportional Mixup was suggested by Alex Polonsky. The puzzle is a shape-mod of the Mixup Cube. By having rhombicuboctahedron-shaped cubies, the cubies can be proportional like in a regular Rubik's Cube. However, this puzzle also has 45 degrees slice moves, resulting in some weird shapeshifting.

I saw this and thought the exact same thing. But it's very cool with the rhombicuboctahedrons. Very molecular-looking.

I suppose if you take spheres instead of these rombicubeoctahedra the cubies won't be of exact size anymore to make it work. Unless there were gaps in between? Or unless they would rub and flex a little?
I don't know though, I just guess.

In the past you said You do not like shape variants...
This is a very good reason to create one.
