Hi!
My
first design of F-Skewb had some drawbacks. First, because at that time I had less experience in designing twisty puzzles, it was not very stable. Well, it would not explode in your hands, but one of the big triangular pieces might easily pop out when the puzzle was turned. For the same reason it was relatively difficult to assemble it. Second, it was way too small - just 42-43 mm edge length. Third, rounding of the face parts revealed internal parts and that wide parting line did not look nice.
So I thought that this puzzle deserved better implementation and redesigned it. The second version has standard size 57x57x57mm, is absolutely unpoppable and the faces look whole and unbroken.
I haven't updated the Shapeways model yet, but I will, if there's interest.
