Hi, I'm new at the twisty puzzles world, and I only have 8 puzzles so far (I'm really new, I don't even have a 4x4x4), but just for the fun of it, I made my first sticker mod.

The no-solution cube has all 54 stickers a different color. Originally I wanted to put a little "hint" on some stickers, a little color dot (or something to that effect) so there actually was a solution, but I got lazy and just made it like this.

This cube obviously lacks any quality whatsoever, I printed the "stickers" on my everyday home pc printer, put contact adhesive paper on them, and glued them to the cube. It's really raw, but as I said, this is just for kicks.

Thanks for reading.

Is this a new, previously unknown subgroup, where all of the pieces lack both permutation and orientation? :P

Sure but you first must come up with the goal. On the standard Rubik's cube that goal is somewhat obvious. On this puzzle you get to pick the target solution.

I think this puzzle has quite a few "interesting" potential solutions.

For example, you might try to minimize the total color variation of the puzzle by calculating the color variance per-face. You could use the variance of the RGB codepoints of the 9 stickers per face, enter them all into a program, find the optimal solution with a hill-climbing algorithm, and then solve to that solution.

A puzzle like this DOES have a solution. Turn it once, and you will see that the gradient changes across the faces.
