This sticker mod uses only two colours, yet the number of positions on the cubes is not smaller then on a regular 6-colour cube.
(actually for cubes of odd order the cubes show 128 (= 4^4/2) times more positions than a regular cube since four identical centers out of six have to be oriented.)
The design works on all order cubes: 2x2x2, 3x3x3, 4x4x4, 5x5x5, 6x6x6, 7x7x7,...
The picture above is showing the 2x2x2 the 3x3x3 and the 4x4x4 I stickered this way.
Below the scheme for a 3x3x3 is given.

Walter Randelshofer made a virtual version of 3x3x3 Tangram cube and a virtual 4x4x4 Tangram cube.

I recommend this stickering especially for people that bought the ILLusion and are now bored with it. Only four of the ILLusion faces need to be stickered to make it a real challenge. The gif file below can be used with "Cube Twister" the excellent Program by Werner and Walter Randelshofer to simulate a Tangram stickered Illusion.

Ah, and of course a lot of different patterns can be arranged, hence the name.

Using only a minimum of 2 colors but keeping up the numbers of positions or even enlarge it, that's what I call an ingenious design!
Due to the similarity of the stickers the Tangram Cubes are in addition very hard to solve.

In case you already get lost by the 3x3x3 or 4x4x4 Tangram Cubes you may try to solve the Pocket version first.
