Some facts:
  • I finished 2 weeks ago this one.
  • It is part of a (unfinished) series.
  • It has a strange signature.
  • It was made by extending a SkewbUltimate
  • It has the shape of a rhombohedron
If someone can guess (or calculate?) the signature he/she can get it. :D

Wow, nice Skewb Ultimate mod. I like it. I really wish I learnt the cutting signature.

Can you remind me where you're classifying topic is? I searched but really can't find!

I'm going for it anyways: Extended faces F101102103110111112

I know how you did it but if I don't know how signatures work I can't do anything about it

I'll send you a PM to explain.

@ Sebuver: not a cube

Nice one.

Very similar to my Thomas Skewb.

The difference being that Andreas' puzzle is a rhombohedron and I must say it is very interesting I wish I knew how to classify it.

Yes, I realised his was not a cube. But the cuts are strikingly similar. That's what I find so fascinating.

Indeed. Quite fascinating!

Nothing to cry about. I am just showing off with the system.
This mod's signature is 10561E0C3C00001F803F0A80000. To make everything even more complicated: There are at least 9 other signature which would have lead to the same mod.

I was asked how these signatures work:
1. Go to this thread: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=15993
2. Download the tool to be found there.
3. Change to the megaminx
4. Lookup in the help file to learn how to enter signatures.
5. Enter the signature.
6. Look at the picture it creates: The "marked" face of the megaminx were extended in this UltimateSkewb.

One might ask, why to use the megaminx in the program:
1. There is no Ultimate Skewb in the program.
2. There is no need for an UltimateSkewb in the program.
3. Any dodecahedral puzzle would have been sufficient.

I hope this helps.

Thanks. Making it was quite simple:
1. Cast some extensions
2. Glue them onto the UltimateSkewb
3. Fill the gaps.
4. Don't forget to buy new black pigment...

Well... No.
Extending the faces which I think you mean would result in the Almost-Antiprism:
viewtopic.php?f=15&t=19531
But that is the solid with the inverted signature.

Quite simple for someone who already has casted 12 sets of extensions, isn't it?
Yes. I know. I am cruel.

I meant that faces 123 10 11 12 extend onto the others :)

EDIT: On Andreas's request, the signature I found: F80041186030C000006600CC22001F
