I have been waiting to post these for almost 2 months now for personal reasons, however here they are: the Bratwurstminx and the 2x2x1. The Bratwurstminx is a heavily bandaged pyraminx. This was also a test of a new seam filler that I got from HobbyTownUSA, however it did not work very well and I had to back it up with some wet-applied Apoxie Sculpt. I feel that this and the 2x2x1 were fairly well made, and I am now trying to figure out how challenging this will be to solve. Any guesses? I figured out that each move has 9 possible moves because half of the corners are bandaged. I don't know why I called it the Bratwurstminx. You can find some more pictures showing flaws etc in the public Facebook Album. I have also included a 2x2x1 because I made the 2 at the same time (early September), just as a secondary fiddle-thing.

Assuming I understand the bandaging correctly, the Bratwurstminx is actually pretty ridiculously easy. Basically you have two tips that can rotate that share a total of 5 edges. The intersection of these two rotation spaces is one of the edges. This concept actually can appear on several puzzles, for example a rainbow cube.

I believe it has 3^2 * 5!/2 = 540 positions. And although it isn't completely trivial, it is ALMOST trivial :)

They both look quite nice. Congrats 8-)

Peace,
Matt Galla

Darn the need for sleep! You beat me to the posting!

I fiddled with it for a while last night and found it to be very frustrating because I realy wanted to make a few extra turns that I just can't make

The movement of it can be seen here

It looks delicious, of German quality and obviously soaked in beer.

Well done, sir, well done.

Is the Bratwurstminx simply a 2-gen Pyraminx? If so, then Allagem is right, it is ridiculously easy (about Floppy Cube difficulty). I've solved it many times on my Pyraminx, never taken me more than 15 moves :)

Very nice. A rather simple way of bandaging the puzzle, but it looks like a lot of fun! :)
