Hello everyone,

Just finished up this puzzle. It is an Axis Rhombic Dodecahedron. The puzzle was made from a Axis (Axel) Cube that was purchased from Meffert's. The extensions and caps were made from ABS plastic sheet and the stickers were machine cut using Oracal and Arlon Vinyl. The colors are red, blue, yellow, black, orange, green, light green, pink, lavender, aqua, silver, and bronze. Here is a video of the puzzle if you would like to check it out. Hope you enjoy.

I love it! Rhombic Dodecahedron shaped puzzles are my favourite, and this one looks awesome! I really love the light green side for some reason.

I have a question, sorry if it is kind of stupid, but, why do you use Oracal and Arlon vinyl? I mean how do you use both on the same puzzle?

I also have a question. Where do you get your plastic sheeting? A lot of puzzle builders buy them from McMaster-Carr, but I was just wondering where you did (and if you know of any cheaper sites.).

I think he says what kind of sheeting he uses in his How to Use Plastic Sheeting Tutorial or something.

Arlon and Orcal Vinyl have almost the same thickness and gloss so they work nicely together. Using both types on a puzzle gives me more color options then just using one brand. Both are a very nice quality in my opinion. Good question.




Thank-you. I live close to a plastic supplier called Industrial Paints and Plastics. They are only located in Alberta and British Columbia, Canada. Check your phone book under Plastics and you may find a local store. I had no idea they were so close to me if I didn't check the phone book. Check hobby shops too. If don't have any luck I believe McMaster-Carr would be your best choice (but I have never ordered from them so I can't say for sure but I have heard good things).
