@Rentlix: I know what you mean but I have good reasons to use 3x3x3s:
1. To demonstrate the truncating technique and finish the series every hexahedral puzzle is as good as the others.
2. 3x3x3s are easy to modify. Try some of the extended-truncated-mods with a hexaminx!
3. I have a lot of them. See the next point.
4. I pay an average of 3EUR for each and they are good quality with occasionally bad stickers.

Not that trivial. Two edges have no orientation and are identical. The other two edges are "normal". The 4 corners have visible orientation and two pairs of two are identical.

No. No extended puzzles for these. After I analysed all possible variants with OctagonalEdges with some degree of symmetry I came analysed them for their potential to result in interesting extended version. These 12 fell of the list afterwards. But you can see one variant here:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=17655which was funnily not made by me.
