This is somewhat a Work in Progress and a Proof of Concept. but I thought that it deserved to go in New Puzzles. This is based on the concept of mr bang's Tower 2 but applied to a Rubik's Tower. The result is so far unstable but useable. It requires some careful alignment but I suspect that the issues will start to be resolved once I finish filling or capping the pieces. Though it may not be clear, the face pettern on the 2x2 is a combination of a cross and an X. Sorry for the bad pics.

I like this idea. can you turn the top 45 degrees and still have it shape shift the same was as usual?

NO FAIR, I designed this more than a month ago. I like how you did it, the one thing I could not figure out is how to make the edges turn aswell.

Yes, in fact, it can shape shift normally with the top or bottom turned 45 degrees as shown by the 3rd picture. This is a fairly logical extension from the square 2 and mr bang's tower 2 brought this idea to mind.
