Hello i have finished another simple and beautiful work, the puzzle was built from an original 2x2x2 Eastsheen cube, i have used plastic sheets to coat, water and sand paper to polish and oracal vinyl sheets to finish, it weighs 2-3 Gr.

Here the photos and the videos.

Not to be rude, but this topic belongs in the puzzle building section, this has been made many times so it isnt really a new puzzle, great work either way :)

It was my understanding that modifications go in the new puzzle section, while information on puzzle making go in the other.

It says New Puzzles, something that has never been made before, or some variation of an already existing puzzle, ive read the rules many times  I never meant to make anyone mad, but that is typically where people post pictures of their mods that have already been made, i actually liked your puzzle, i didn't mean to cause offence :?
Also, i have no idea where you got the idea that i was questioning your intelligence, i was just letting you know from what i have seen over the past year. Im sorry...

Don't worry:

Puzzle Building and Modding

Advice, examples, methods, materials, puzzle ideas, and on-going projects.

Look, I checked in the section that you say, but I have not found a concrete example (similar to my case) I do not know if our misunderstanding stems from a simple punctuation (:) but I think it is appropriate to contact a moderator, ***I am fully aware that this mini puzzle was created a billion times***, but frankly your way of communicating (advise) another section sounded (to me) sarcastic (sarcasm is forbidden because it brings bad)
so now make contact with a moderator, so privately will explain me where and if I'm wrong.
anyway thanks for the compliment, I only liked a private message to certain things.

excuse for the response may have seemed a little harsh
SORRY

Rafael

New puzzles is for finished puzzles, puzzle building and modding are for puzzles that aren't quite done yet.

That's how it's always been as long I've been reading the boards.

Hello thanks for reply, I would understand Where should I insert a topic, alleging a puzzle finished, but that is already existing.

Thank to all

Can we please calm down? GuitarSD and RFLo9Puzzles should either take this outside, or shake hands and agree to disagree. It's not that big a deal. I don't think anyone meant to insult anyone else's intelligence.

In any case, this is a beautifully made mod! Just out of curiosity, why didn't you cut all the way down to make it a true HD? Unless I am mistaken, you would have been able to without interfering with the mechanism. It looks cool, though!

Keep up the great mods!

I am calm I already apologized, thanks, for those who have not yet understood,I repeat:

nice guitar SD,

I offer my apologies for having raised voice, it was only the result of my misunderstanding.

Rafael

Mr Eitan, the cube was made fast, is a present for my uncle and now it is on air,the cube is directed in Argentina, it's possible to cutt all the way down, because the mechanism would not be involved, the only thing is that it is a bit more difficult to do.

Thank you for reply.

Rafael

I think theVDude came closest to how I interpret the distinction between the forums. I think if someone buys a new Rubik's 3x3x3 off the shelf and posts pictures about it here that is not really appropriate but if you complete a puzzle yourself, regardless of how common, and want to show it off here that is fine.

In this case I think the unique size alone makes it clearly "new" even if plenty of other people have applied that modification to that abstract puzzle.

But I don't think GuitarSD was at all out of line to suggest it might belong in the other thread, and he did so in a very nice way. The initial thread talks about the making of the puzzle to the detail of how it was finished and sanded. All of that makes it very appropriate for the other forum.

So it is fine in either. And it doesn't really matter that much. Be happy :)

Dave

Hello Thanks a lot for having ended the discussion, I think if I understand I can sleep nights sleep:

new puzzles section may be published any work finished published or unpublished unless it infringes the copyright of others,

and in puzzle building this: http://twistypuzzles.com/forum/viewtopi ... =9&t=16938

ok?

Thank you very much

Rafael :D

Yes, that is correct.

As with any post on the forum the first rule should be "what does this post give to other members of the forum?". So I could resticker my 3x3x3 with normal colors and by the strict rules post about it in New Puzzles. But is this really giving anything to the members of the forum? If I do a unique stickering pattern, or there is something special about it perhaps.

For any custom made puzzle, even if it has been done before, enough work goes into it that I think that is nice to share with others. And when you share your work and people appreciate it, it encourages others to try themselves. This gives something to the forum.

Dave
