Very nice! I plan to build one in the future, but so the tips turns also. I don't think that would be too hard, would it?

You could mod a crazy 4x4x4 and glue the tips to the centers.

It easier to do it with a regular rubik's 4x4x4, but I think it makes it pop a lot easier.

Mini QJ would work nicely. Small, turns well, and cheap.
