Has anyone thought about making a Void Pentaminx [Edit: Megaminx] /Teraminx? I think it would look very cool and should be quite easy if you use a rail system on a hollow sphere with pentagonal windows. I did a search, but couldn't find any reference to the idea on this forum...

Anyone want to give it a go?

Someone should try this. I think it would look pretty cool. Definitely would be a worthwhile mod and get you a few adoring fans and some praise! :D

I'm not sure what you mean by "Pentaminx", but a void Megaminx has already been made viewtopic.php?f=15&t=8966&hilit

You mean petaminx?
As for both of the puzzles it would be quit impossible.
As Lee Tutt said on the DCD: It was hard to get all the pieces perfect, only 1 void megaminx was good. But still could be improved.
So for a teraminx there just would be to many pieces to perfect.

Edit:

Anyway I have made two and am still not completely happy with them. The first is stickered and the second is tiled. The first is a little tight and the second a little loose. The spider can not be adjusted because there is no spider! This means the pieces have to be very accurate. Assembly is tricky also.

Thanks and yes, I meant a Void Megaminx... but I see that I'm like over a YEAR too late!

I hadn't seen this post, but had the idea when thinking about what might make a new twisty puzzle take off and appeal to the mass market with blockbuster success in this thread. I do think this puzzle looks stunning, and has the potential to go viral with mass market appeal.

What does everyone else think?
