I finished three puzzles pretty much simultaneously, so that's why I am posing the Twister I, Twister II, and EyeSkewb all in the same afternoon.

Here is my first successful attempt at molding and casting a full mechanism (rather than just attaching pieces onto an existing puzzle, like I did with the ∏ramid Scheme and the Twisters.)

I am still debating between naming it "EyeSkewb" or "iSkewb". I have included a poll for this purpose. (EDIT: I have removed the poll, as I have decided to name it "EyeSkewb". Thanks for the input, everyone!)

Solved:

(The blue face looks like it is stickered badly, but that section is turned just slightly. My stickering job isn't professional, but it isn't that bad! :D )

Scrambled:

I'll post a video in a day or two.

I will soon post a link to a "Making-of" thread.

EDIT: Sorry for the wait, but here is the video!

Eye-Skewb. ISkewb sounds like it should have an apple logo in place of the eye shape.

I like the lanceolate shapes of the centres. I think it turns and scrambles like the Pyraminx based Cubominx.

That it does! This thing has turned out to be very easy to solve. It is still really fun to play with!

I was just thinking how easy it looked to solve, and I get told "It is". :P

Still, very nice job, and it looks amazing.

What would it look like if it was turned back into the tetrahedral Pyraminx shape?

I'm trying to visualise a Pyraminx with curvy cuts. Perhaps it's not possible.

Btw, I like the name. "I think, therefore iSkewb" :D

I put EyeSkewb cause the other one sounds a lot like Apple. Unless you like that.

Your new puzzle reminds me of this but more so the left one.

I've decided to name it "EyeSkewb". I agree that "iSkewb" would sound too much like an Apple product.

Thanks for the input, everyone!

Nice one!

Now you need to draw an eye for each center for it to become alive!

:)

That's exactly what I'm planning to do. Since I don't think I'll ever use black casting resin again, I have decided to not use white stickers either. I just don't have the black sticker material yet. As soon as my order from Cubesmith arrives, I'll redo that side of the cube.

Thanks for the suggestion, though!

That would only work if I pronounced my name "Eye"tan. It is actually pronounced "eight-on", with the emphasis on the first syllable. I was waiting for you to post, eye2eye. You should try to design a mod of this and call it the "Eye2EyeSkewb"!

Thanks!

If you put an apple logo on it, you could triple the price and nobody would bat an eyelash. It would just be expected. ;)

Even though I'm on a MacBook Pro, listening to my iPod, and dreaming of the day I'll have an iPhone, I'm still laughing.

What did you think of the cube, Frank?

Sorry, I should have commented on the cube. I think it's brilliant. Really sleek design, and the colors are fitting. Overall, excellent work. And that you made this yourself and not based on stripping or modding another product is awesome!
