I decided to revisit the DRD that Adam designed and I made some alterations to the original puzzle file. I made sure to carefully take my time in sanding everything down carefully.

The result, while not adding too much difficulty to the puzzle, is very satisfying. The puzzle turns great, however if some axis are not lined up perfectly than some of the edges might catch on one another.

It looks amazing! Two puzzles in one.... I think this would be a very fun puzzle to solve.

Nice work as usual, Drew.

That's awesome! I would think that it'd be very tricky to make it turn like a 2x2 also because the DRD has internal centers, but I see how that problem can be resolved. It also seems like the triangular corners turn better than the original DRD too! Great job, Drew!

WOW!!! I knew we'd be seeing this sooner or later. I asked about it here:

http://www.twistypuzzles.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=133628#p133628

and it looks like my question has finally been answered. Great job as always Drewseph.

So any chance we'll see this up on http://www.bedardpuzzles.com/ soonish?

Thanks,
Carl

I would guess not to expect it any time soon. Reason being, Drew is human! He's almost done taking care of an insanely long list for the DRD, and already has a crazy long Master Skewb list ahead of him, lol. But of course, only Drew can answer for sure.

Incredible.
I already found DRDv1 very cool, but this one directly came to my must-have list...

Congrats to your design!!

These will not be on a waiting list. They are too difficult to fine-tune, and deal with too many parts. If I did sell any more it would be a fixed quantity. The core alone costs $400 to print, and I'm not sure cast pieces would work very friendly with this puzzle.

That's awesome, I love 2 in 1 puzzles! :D

$400 for the core? Is it that intricate?

it could be cheaper, I'd just have to design it to fit securely onto an eastsheen, however the stress on some parts might make that impossible. a custom printed core seems best so far

im not trying to be rude or ......ignorant, but isnt drdv2 sort of an inappropriate name? shouldnt it be a dinoicrhombiminx ...drm? i would assume v2 would mean its the same puzzle with maybe a smaller build or something... just curious if you are going to keep that name

For use of my name and concept I DEMAND a copy :P

JK but seriously very cool puzzle. I was a bit skeptical of the stability of it when I first saw the CAD drawings but it looks like it turned out well. A bit rough in turning but cool nonetheless.

The "core" is not just a spider...
