I was hoping to make the first announcement for the 333 Egg coming soon from Meffert's, but it seems that Uwe beat me to it!

The Egg is slightly different than the one I designed for 3D printing. The end is less pointy to allow for injection molding, and the parts are hollow. I decided that "royal" colors (darker colors with a yellow/gold) would be more interesting than the typical puzzle colors. (Yes, it is Mardi Gras colors, and it is past easter...) There may be stickers for this puzzle eventually, but not right now. The curvature of the Egg makes stickers peel easily, and to make them stay flat, a solution to this problem needs to be found.

The prototype I have is lightweight, and very smooth. It turned out very well for my first design for injection molding. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do!

Adam

p.s. If someone comes up with a better name than "Morph Egg", I am sure that they will get something in return...

p.p.s I don't want to have too many options at once, but color suggestions are also welcome.

Adam,

Since your puzzle is built up along the long axis of a 333 cube, perhaps 'Di-egg-onal' is a good name for this lovely puzzle.

I would call it ovum (the Latin word for egg)

I'm definetely going to get a white and a colored one.
As for the name, I actually like Morphegg. Since it is a Meffert's puzzle, I would suggest a name which contains both 'egg' and 'minx', but I can't come up with something that contains both these words and actually sounds cool. Maybe, following Skarabajo's suggestion of 'ovum' being Latin for egg:
'ovuminx'

I feel like "ovum" or any variation of the phrase would be a bit strange. The word, at least for me, connotes a reproductive image more than it says "chicken egg." I will admit that ovuminx, when said quickly, has a nice sound to it if only it didn't make me think of health class.

Great puzzle- glad it's being mass-produced, but man, I need to find a source of income to keep up with the puzzle world

I like "scrambled egg" or "ovuminx". I agree that calling it ovum would get you some strange looks.

Eggaminx would be nice, or Eggominx. Ovuminx sounds a bit odd.

Or Eigg (pronounced 'eye'gg).

Or Cogg (cowan-egg, pronounced c'oh'gg). Or maybe Cog.

Okay, im rambling here.

*EDIT* another mefferts theme, Megg. Or, because of the threes.. Thregg.

Why does everything Meffert makes have to be so... minxy? :|

Even just Cowan's Egg would be good.
